🌿 “That’s why I quietly ask God that no one ever says the word war.” 🌿
- Karyna, 10 years old
These are the final lines of a poem written by Karyna and her mom - a mother now in palliative care, facing cancer with love, courage, and quiet strength.
Karyna is just 10.
But war has made her grow up far too quickly.
She knows how to hide in a basement when sirens go on.
She knows how to pack an emergency bag.
She knows how to save water and bread.
She knows what it means to say goodbye to everything familiar — and start again with nothing.
Karyna began dancing when she was only 3. Dance wasn’t just a hobby - it was her joy, her voice, her way of feeling free. But when the war forced her family to flee, the music stopped. There were no more costumes or classes - just survival. Still, she never gave up. She kept dancing in her heart.
Through our #MyPassionMyDreams program, Karyna is dancing again.
And this August, she’ll join our therapeutic summer camp -
a place where children like her can simply be children again.
✨ What will this camp offer?
🏕️ Forest adventures, creative games, and space to breathe
🐴 Daily contact with animals like huskies and horses
💙 Gentle support from a Ukrainian psychologist who understands their pain
We will welcome 30-40 refugee children, most from single-parent families, many still carrying invisible wounds.
For them, this is not just a camp.
It’s a week of peace, connection, and healing.
💙 The cost to sponsor one child is 350 CHF.
As an association, we’re already sponsoring 15 - but so many more are waiting for their turn to feel safe, seen, and joyful again.
🌟 Every donation, every share, every gesture helps.
📩 If you can support - or help spread the word - we’re deeply grateful.
Let’s give Karyna, and children like her, the summer they so deeply deserve -
a moment to breathe, to dance, and to smile again.
