🌿 What does it mean to be 15 and carry the weight of an entire family? 🌿
For Salim, it’s not a question - it’s daily life.
He’s one of the incredible young people who will join our therapeutic summer camp this August - and his story touched us deeply.
Salim is a kind, soft-spoken teenager with a big heart and a curious mind. He loves building drones from scratch, collecting spare parts, and figuring things out on his own.
But his world is far from simple.
He lives with his mother, grandmother, and grandfather - all of whom need daily care. His grandma has advanced Alzheimer’s. His grandpa is bedridden, battling cancer. His mom, injured in a car accident years ago, struggles with chronic spinal pain.
Three months ago, she became immobilised again.
For more than two months, Salim did it all:
Shopping,
Cooking,
Laundry,
Feeding his grandparents who can’t use utensils
Even covering his mom’s cleaning job at night - working until 1 or 2 a.m. - so she wouldn’t lose it....
…all while going to school in the morning.
And Salim himself?
He lives with a congenital heart defect and asthma. He’s 15. But life has made him grow up far too fast.
💙 That’s why this summer camp matters.
It’s not just a few days away.
It’s a chance to rest. To smile. To just be a teenager.
Thanks to your incredible generosity, 20 children are already fully sponsored.
From all of us — and from them — thank you. 🙏
But we’re not done.
We hope to welcome 30 refugee children, most from single-parent families, all in need of a safe, healing space.
The cost to sponsor one child is 350 CHF. With your help, we can give more children this chance.
📩 Every donation counts. Every share helps. Every bit of support brings light.
Let’s give Salim - and children like him - the summer they so deeply deserve.
A moment to breathe. To play. To just be young again.
